memorial bench installed
As part of work to make the public seating area outside the hall more attractive and welcoming for passers-by, a new bench, donated by the family and in memory of Sarah Hawkins, popular and long serving teacher from Mortimer St John’s School and the Pre-School, has just been installed.
Planters, in memory of the late Lawrence Picking former chairman of the parish council and member of Mortimer Amateur Dramatics will follow.
The trustees hope to complete the refurbishment of the area and announce its official opening later this Autumn.
