Council awards £100,000 to deliver New Skate Park
Work to create a brand new skate park in Burghfield Common looks set to start in earnest, following the award of £100,000, the maximum possible grant for such projects, by West Berkshire Council.
The funding comes following the council’s recent call for suggestions on how to spend funds levied on house builders.
The park is the brainchild of Burghfield resident Alex Woodward, and supported by Burghfield Parish Council who’ve made the grant applications and supported public consultation over the plans.
This large West Berks Council contribution, coupled with match-funding from Greenham Trust, residents contributions, and the district councillor “Members Bid” pot, means that work should start later this month.
