the street footpath improvements

Work is in full swing to further widen the footpath between Kiln Lane and Pitfield Lane.

The work, initiated by the parish council, is particularly aimed at helping parents and children get to/from St Mary’s junior school more easily and remove some of the trip hazards.

In December 2014, Knutsford council approved plans to widen the pavements, 220 years after Lady Jane Stanley had paid for narrow pavements to be laid to prevent lovers strolling arm in arm.
